8/19/2024 - Week 57 - I killed a man once...
Welp, this week has been one for the books.
-one of the comps in my trio finished his mission and went home on Thurday, so we got to drive down to the mission office and drop him off with the APs
- we had 3 separate lunches with 3 different Diaz families in the Branch (they're all from a family of 9 sisters so there's a ton of them) and they all made a slightly different version of Chicken and Rice
- one of the Diaz families gave Elder Wilkins a ton of Guatemala merch before he went home
- got authentic Colombian food with the Richards and Hermana Richards taught us some Colombian slang and music
- helped one of the families that moved into the ward get the washer and dryer they bought moved into the house (to the 2nd story through the narrowest staircase I've ever seen 💀)
- we put our friend Angel on date for September!
- had interviews with President Rasmussen and the last district council with Elder Wilkins and Wells
- had an exchange with the Dayton Elders and it's always a blast to talk with Elder Subero (He's learning English, but is still the funniest guy in either language)
- had some baleada with Yenni and she gave us the recipe
- had 6 friends at church and taught 3 lessons on Sunday
That's a pretty good summary of the last week.
We have transfers next week so we'll see what happens (we only have 9 Spanish missionaries right now [not a lot] and we're getting 5 more so it'll be a wild transfer)
Spiritual Thought:
Alma 26:22
"Yea, he that repenteth and exerciseth faith, and bringeth forth good works, and prayeth continually without ceasing—unto such it is given to know the mysteries of God; yea, unto such it shall be given to reveal things which never have been revealed; yea, and it shall be given unto such to bring thousands of souls to repentance, even as it has been given unto us to bring these our brethren to repentance."
I love this scripture a ton because it is so plain about the power of prayer and the miracles that we can receive through diligence in prayer, faith, and repentance!
Adios!
