1/6/2025 - Week 77 - Monumental Decisions
The weather has been getting colder here in Ohio and apparently we're in some sort of major storm? It doesn't really feel like it (it's basically just snowing but people are freaking out) so not too much happened yesterday at church (they even cancelled the 2nd hour the week we actually planned it ☹️)
What did happen this week?
Well, actually a lot. We had 3 friends that we put on date this week! One is named David and he's been meeting with missionaries for a while now because he really want to have the Gift of the Holy Ghost (pretty goated goal if I do say so myself) so we put him on date for February 8th (unfortunately he didn't come to church because of the snow which is lame).
The other two are some kids of a member who had her oldest son get baptized not too long ago! They accepted a baptismal date for March 1st (quite a lot of time I know) because they're Sister is having a pretty important surgery which will have a long recovery time and will put a lot of stress on the family. If y'all could pray for the Escobedo family that would be awesome!
We also finally had our English class here in Western Hills and we had about 5 or 6 people there which isn't too bad!
We also did a lot of Tech Elder work for the mission this week to get people new phones and solve some problems that are going on with people's phones and SIM cards throughout the mission. We also have the big task of replacing every SIM card in the mission next week so wish me luck with that one.
We also had the major announcement that we are part of a pilot program to get rid of backers when you are reversing a car (missionaries for the past several decades one companion has had to be outside and guide their companion who is backing the car, but now we just aren't doing it to see if it actually helps or not). So that is a pretty big deal and we're pretty pumped about it!
Basically that's all that happened today. We did get a significant amount of snowfall last night so I'll probably be trapped inside all day today... so if you wanna send me an email the likelihood I'll be able to respond quickly is very high!
Love y'all! Stay safe!
Elder Hansen
