3/11/2024 - Week 34 - Who thought putting me as trainer was a good idea?
Well, a lot has happened recently. I'm gonna try and keep this relatively brief cuz these emails are getting out of hand and are really long usually.
Fun stuff:
- Played some pickleball with our Elder's Quorum President
- Got Skyline Chili with Bro Hines and he took us to our lesson with Brandon and Tara!
- Had some Mexican food with Bro Sheahan
- Got Pizza from both the Eatons and the Goses on back to back days!
- Went to a Hot Wheels store where we are almost teaching the store owner, but we're not positive if he's all that interested yet.
- We rearranged and organized the sketchiest pile of wood at service cuz it was pouring rain. Almost died a few times from the wood falling over on me cuz it was all balanced on itself and it was like playing the most intense version of Jenga where your physical safety is on the line.
- We had an emergency 1 day trio with Elder Gertsch in the Huber Heights area before transfers and we had a blast!
- We had a funeral for Sister Robertson during district council since she headed home on Saturday
- I taught a seminary class this morning and had to wake up at 5:30 am to get there on time (the grind never stops)
Now for the stuff you actually want to find out! I got a son on the mission (aka I'm training a new missionary)! His name is Elder Card, he's from Utah (ofc) and he is the cousin of my cousin's wife (kinda weird and crazy at the same time, shoutout to the Eagle Hansen Clan).
Training has been an interesting experience and I am trying to do my best and make it fun at the same time. So the last few days have been very different for me to say the least.
We had an Interfaith Community Choral Event and we performed "Consider the Lilies" as a missionary Choir with Elder Dujardin on the Flute (He's a dawg)! There were choirs from different different Christian Churches, a Jewish Choir who sang in Hebrew, and a Hindu lady who played a Veena (that's an instrument). It was an amazing and spiritual experience to watch and perform in that event!
Spiritual thought:
Helaman 12 is an absolutely baller chapter in the Book of Mormon! It talks about how nothing we can do compares to the power of God and how it is only through His mercy and our faith in Him and how we show that faith that will allow us Eternal Life! Give it a read and send me an email with what you love about that chapter!
