4/22/2024 - Week 41 - Another week of missionary work
Howdy yall
Buckle up for a compartmentalized email from yours truly.
Service:
We spent most of out time at the farm mucking the stables and pens for the various animals. It was very smelly but almost cathartic in a way? Very weird experience for sure
We also got an industrial sized bag (aka very big) of pre-cooked bacon bits from out food pantry we serve at.
Lesson quotes:
In a very good Law of Chastity with Jose "women are scary".
We gave a Book of Mormon to our Fijian friend Nathaniel, he said: "you have given me life itself"
Exchanges:
We went on exchanges with our Zone Leaders and we got chastised by an old man, then he taught us some life lessons, then we moved an oven into his house. It was an experience, I'm not sure if good or bad
We also had Skyline Chili with our main man Bro Hines and we got some Lee's Chicken with the whole Eber Clan (we love all of them)
We invite a lot of people to Church and we get some weird responses sometimes.
Here are some from this week:
"How many wives you got? I need 6-7 personally, I'm living in sin" (weird, but memorable)
"Legalize Abortion" (is inviting people to Church a political statement now? I didn't think so before)
Spiritual thought:
We had an amazing church program entirely run by the youth (except for conductor and Presiding Bishopric member) so we had the youth running the show! The first talk was absolutely amazing because he focused his talk on Baseball. He talked about how in baseball there are players known as 5 tool players (players with exceptional ability to hit the ball, hit the ball hard, run fast, throw the ball fast and far, and being a diamond defender aka golden glove). These types of players are the ones who have the greatest impact on their team and revolutionize the game! We can be 5 tool disciples of Christ as we take the time and hone our Spiritual gifts through daily repentance, prayer and scripture study, service, receiving and acting on revelation, and obedience and keeping our covenants & commandments.
As we become 5 tool disciples we will be able to bless our own and other people's lives!
Peace, love y'all
-Parker
