4/8/2024 - Week 38 - General Conference, another Tornado, Wedding Crashing, and another concussion
Welp, Its been a week. That's for sure.
Last Monday, I managed to hit my head (again) on the top of a door frame (not because I am tall, but because I am dumb and jumped into it full force - on accident somehow). I didn't really get a concussion, but boy do I have a gnarly headache about half the time.
On Tuesday, everyone in the Ohio Valley was supposed to get wiped off the face of the earth with the worst weather system combo for tornados possible (I may be exaggerating). However, we were spared and the tornados hit all around us, but our weather was actually quite nice! We were supposed to have baseball-sized hail (which I was very excited to see) but we didn't get any ☹️. We were inside all afternoon just in case we did get hit by the mother-storm.
We were sick on Wednesday and made Banana Bread.
We had exchanges with our Zone Leaders this week and they are an absolute party. They took us to BDubs for lunch and we had a fire time out finding with them. They are super energetic and both of them are almost too much fun to be taken seriously at any point in time.
After exchanges we had a lesson with our friend Jose where we were going to teach him the Plan of Salvation (I was prepped and had it outlined on the board) and then he no-showed 😭. I was really upset, but then we walked past the wedding reception that was happening at the building at the same time and the bride's family waved us in and told us to grab some food! So, we did! We also had a guy come up to us who was an RM and he started pointing out all the non-members we could pross up and we were like "Bro, chill. This is a wedding, we ain't gonna pross people up, thats rude". Kinda a weird interaction. In my frustration that Jose didn't show up for the lesson, I filled out the outline I drew on the board in record time (for absolutely no one) and then went crazy for about 4 minutes, then I calmed down.
Welp, the crowning moment of the week was General Conference (ofc). I loved how literally every talk mentioned either the Temple, Covenants, or both! It was a real reminder to me that we need to make sure that we are taking the time to go to the temple/prepare to go to the temple for the first time! There is always something to learn to help us prepare to be with God again! Also, remember and study the covenants you have made and/or plan to make! They will help you to have the most joy and peace in this life and will guide you as you go along the perilous journey of mortality!
AND OF COURSE.... CINCINNATI IS GETTING A TEMPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love you all!

Pics: Honestly, IDK what half of these are, all the ones in Hawaiian shirts are from General Conference
