8/26/2024 - Week 58 -

I'm gonna keep this one real short this week. I promise it'll be readable this time.

-transfers! I moved back to my apartment from last transfer (still in the same branch)
-my new Companion is Elder Subero de Venezuela
-we had 2 friends at stake conference! 💪
-3 of our new members got the Melchizedek Priesthood!
-I learned a little bit of Ixil (a dialect of Guatemala) to help teach one of our friends
-we finally contacted a referral we got like 2 months ago and he's super cool! He is absolutely "chilling in the hot tub" (Mission slang for he is loving life - even if it isn't that great, like a 100 hour work week - and just overall has a good attitude)

Really nothing else exciting happened this week.

Spiritual Thought:
Baptism. We know what it is. It's a covenant/promise to God that we will obey the commandments, it's a prerequisite to enter the kingdom of Heaven, it must be done in the same way that Jesus did it.
Those are the basic stuff. It's great.
What I thought about more this week is about how Baptism is the completion of repentance. Think about that a little harder.

Baptism is the completion of repentance.

Without the covenant of baptism and the worthy weekly participation of the sacrament, we cannot access the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ to have a remission of our sins.
We are wasting part of this great and ultimate sacrifice if we do not take advantage of this amazing offer God has given us to leave our sins and find eternal rest!

Hasta pronto!
Elder Hansen
