8/5/2024 - Week 55 - Zone Conference with the Rasmussens
Well, I really don't have too much to talk about this week.
Unfortunately our friends on date have some complications and we had to take them off. ☹️However, we did find some new part member families in the area and we're hoping to be able to work with them this week!
We had our first Zone Conference with President Rasmussen and it was a very different feeling from our Zone Conferences with President McGuire! President Rasmussen loves to take pictures with his missionaries and it was super cool to feel like part of a giant mission family! We didn't learn anything super new, but a reminder and refresh of old stuff never hurts!
We also had the opportunity to teach some really cool new friends this week and to help a new part member family move into the branch!
We had a few fun moments this week
•ran into a huge party/latino festival on Sunday and my comps rode a mechanical bull (not sure if thats totally allowed, but no one was hurt)
•had a district activity today and we played some games which is always fun
•I got to distract the cutest 5 year old with some coloring during a lesson with our new members!
•we met the dad of our 2 gringo brothers in the Spanish Branch (the dad goes to the English ward) and he brought his fan to church because "it's too hot and [he] should be able to be comfortable in church." We thought that was way funny so we got a pic with him and the fan
That's pretty much all I got for this week! I hope you enjoyed this shorter edition, send me an email if you like them shorter like this.
Spiritual Thought:
We talked in Zone Conference about the importance of Preparation, Revelation, and Execution! If we don't make goals, how can we achieve them? If we don't set plans, how will we achieve the goals we do set? And if we don't seek revelation, how can we find it and align our will with God's?
I know this is very much a missionary oriented thing, but I feel like all of us have a desire to align our will with God's and have some guidance in reaching those goals. So just remembering the 3 focuses of preparing for our goals and executing those plans with a heart and a mind open to revelation from God will help us to reach higher than we could with any other method! (My brain is scrambled right now so I hope that makes sense to y'all)
