9/9/2024 - Week 60 - Pre-Fall

Ohio decided it wanted to have a little taste-test of Fall this week so it was in the 60's & 70's all week. For sure sweater weather.

Now for the good stuff:
- Got bashed by some 7th day Adventists that don't understand the difference between what the Bible literally says and what they interpret it to mean (not the same thing usually)
- helped our friend fill out a background check (because it is in English and he doesn't really understand that language) hopefully he doesn't fail because of me...
- we had a good lesson with some Guatemalans and they offered us some water, and when we got it, it was an Aloe drink that was quite good, but very much not water.
- The referral we got last week from Oklahoma is super chill and we put him on date for next Sunday! One of our members drove a 1 hr round trip twice on Sunday to take him and his friend to church and back home!
- we got another referral from some Sisters in Colorado and had a pass-off lesson with them and it was STRANGE. We joined a group video call with them and their friend that lives in Ohio and they taught the end of the Plan of Salvation and they only had one Sister that could speak Spanish and her teaching sounded a lot more like reading out of Preach My Gospel than teaching. But after that I asked our good man some questions and the lesson really got going (I'm not trying to make fun of them, but from my point of view, it was an odd teaching method)
- we had a ton of people at English Class so that was a W
- We had exchanges with the Cincinnati Elders and it was good. I gave Elder Green a little fade 💈✂️
- had some awesome dinners with the Diaz, Hernandez, and Zarate Families!
- a random Laundromat we were doing Facebook work in was playing the Texas v Michigan game and then a random Wendys later that day was playing some Death Cab for Cutie on their speakers, so I think the universe was trying to make me trunky, but it didn't work 💪 (at least not all the way)
- we had 5/6 friends at church and the Dad of one of our Part Member Families came up to us at church and asked if we were gonna be the missionaries to baptize his 12 year old daughter (I don't know if that was a challenge or an invitation, but we're gonna do it!)

Spiritual Thought:
I've never been good at Journaling. I don't really like doing it, but I still do. Sometimes I'm better at doing it than at other times, but without it, I definitely would've forgotten a lot of spiritual/funny moments from my mission (and the Emails would be a lot shorter and more boring). So make sure to journal, if not everyday, every time you have a spiritual/funny experience (because those are what really matter in the end)
So the moral of the story is to journal!

Hasta Luego,
Elder Hansen
