July 1, 2024 - Week 50 - Tacos Locos
Buenas mis amigos y mi familia! Klk, klk. Dame luz! (Shout out to you if you know what that means)
This week was pretty crazy but pretty awesome too!
We got to meet our new Mission President over zoom and he's an absolute STUD! One thing I know for sure about him is that he UNDERSTANDS the power of prayer and the power of blessings! I have my interview with him this week so I'll learn more about him then! (Sister Rasmussen is the sweetest ever too)
Most important updates:
• continued to teach the Guatemalans that we found last week, but they haven't kept commitments and aren't progressing so we had to let them go (lots of faith words from them, but not a ton of faith actions)
• Johnny and Francis: taught them the law of Chastity and Word of Wisdom and they said they'd be down to keep it... eventually (writers note: what does that even mean?)
• had District Council and I gave a training in Spanish and apparently it was good enough to understand!
• had exchanges and went *buck-wild* with finding! Hopefully these people will be the commitment and covenant keepers I hope they are
• had 2 church tours on Saturday (and there was a wedding going on at the same time so it was hectic. But they went amazing and we had members there to testify of the importance of our message!
• 2 friends came to church this week, one that's already come 30+ times, he just works more than any other person so we've been trying to figure out when we can have lessons. The other guy was a Cubano we met at 9:30 the night before and he was super chill (he also works just about everyday, all day)
• stopped by the same Cubano and met his super shredded friends and talked about the BoM. Super chill people.
Less important stuff:
• found out that we can make some DANG good chicken-bacon-ranch tacos 🌮
• a member family made us some authentic Colombian arepas and they were fantastic!
• Our new members are goated and one of them has a daughter that's about to serve a mission!
That's all I got for today.
I hope you have a fantastic week!
